Patient Case Tags in QuickEMR allow users to create custom labels that can be assigned to a patient’s case to highlight important information or workflow needs. These tags appear directly on the appointment book, making them easily visible to staff when viewing the schedule. By using case tags, practices can quickly identify special circumstances, specific requirements, patient statuses, or other important notes that should be recognized before or during a patient visit.
How To Create Tags
1. Navigate to Schedule --> Lists --> Tags.
2. Press the Create button.
3. Enter Tag name.
4. Select appropriate Icon.
**All possible tag icons are shown within the Available Icons window.
5. Press the Save button.
How To Add Tags to a Patient's Case
Once your tags have been created, they can be added to the patients case. This will then show all of the tags within the patients appointment window when scheduled on your appointment book.
1. Navigate to a patients Case.
2. Select the Case tab.
3. Choose all applicable Case Tags.
4. Press Save.
Case Tags will then show on all scheduled appointments for this patient. The only way to remove the tag, would be to navigate back to the case and uncheck the desired option.
How To Use Flex Tags
Flex tags offer the ability to add a tag to a patient's singular appointment. These applied flex tags will only apply to that specific appointment, and will not reoccur on future appointments unless set within the patient's case.
1. Navigate to the Schedule and select the appointment.
2. Select the Note tab within the appointment window.
3. Select the Flex tag that you want to apply.
4. Press Save.
The new selected icons will then show on the appointment window.
Tags vs Computed Tags
In addition to creating custom tags, QuickEMR also includes Computed Tags. Computed Tags are permanent system-generated tags that automatically appear on the scheduled appointment when a patient meets certain conditions within the system.
