Patient Demographics

Within the patient’s Case, new demographic fields have been added or updated to ensure compliance with ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology) standards. These fields are designed to support federal guidelines for collecting and maintaining standardized patient demographic data, which helps improve care quality, promote health equity, and ensure accurate reporting.  All of the following added fields, as well as changes to existing fields, can be found in the Patient tab within the Case file.

The newly added fields include:
  1. Previous Name
  2. Sexual Orientation
  3. Occupation
  4. Occupation Industry

Newly Updated Fields Include:

  1. Gender Identity - Now a multi-select list instead of a dropdown menu.
  2. Gender At Birth - Now included the "Unknown" option.
  3. Race/Ethnicity - Now split into three separate fields (Father Race, Mother Race, Ethnicity)
